COUNSELING Groups
The Project provides a number of counseling groups to the people we serve. All groups are free to attend and do not require insurance coverage.

Family Connections: Building Resilience Together
Join us for a 10-week counseling group is designed for families seeking to improve their emotional and relational well-being through proven DBT techniques. This group focuses on teaching essential skills to strengthen family bonds and navigate emotional challenges.
This group begins Thursday, Jan. 9 from 5-6:30 p.m. at The Project, 4101 John Deere Rd., Moline, IL, 61265.
Limited to 4-6 families - one family member meets TPQC criteria for participation
Family Units: Consist of at least one adult parent/guardian and one adolescent, with the possibility of including more family members if they meet the age criteria.
Adolescents: 12-17 years old.
Adults: 18 years and older.
Free | Insurance Accepted

Current clients can let their clinician, provider, or case manager know and get the appropriate appointment scheduled to join.

The Calm Within
A Harm Reduction Group for Adults 18+
Every Thursday from 3-4 p.m. at The Project
The Calm Within Harm Reduction Group is an inclusive and affirming interactive educational group where clients will learn skills to feel empowered over their emotions while living with their substance use.
Topics include:
Coping skills
Building confidence
Safer use skills
Please note participation in this group is completely confidential.
Registration is not required! Just show up! This group is free to attend.

For Trans & Gender-Expansive Folx 18+
A counselor-led, open support group for trans and gender-expansive folx to connect, share experiences, and have topic focused discussions.
Topics may include:
-Gender & sexuality
-Mental health
-Relationships (peers/family/intimate)
-Self-esteem
-Communication
-Coping skills
-And more!
Who: Folx 18+ who identify as trans and/or gender expansive
When: Every other Thursday from 5-6 p.m. starting Sept. 7, 2023.

Cost: Free to attend

Who: 12-17 who identify as trans and/or gender expansive
When: Beginning November 9th, every other Thursday from 5-6 excluding Thanksgiving Day.

Recovery Navigation to Become Well (RNBW) 🌈
RNBW is an inclusive and affirming counseling group where clients will learn about the different paths to recovery amongst a community filled with new discoveries, strength, and hope. Topics may include:
-Mindfulness
-Harm Reduction
-Sexual orientation, gender identity and expression
-Four Agreements
-Trauma
-Coping skills
Who: Adults 18+, who identify as LGBTQ+ and are experiencing mental health symptoms.
When: Biweekly beginning Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023, from 5-6 p.m.
Where: 4101 John Deere Rd., Moline, IL, 61265.
Cost: Free to attend

Change & Acceptance is an inclusive, DBT skills-based therapy group designed to help people who may be experiencing anger, depression, anxiety, substance use, indecision, stress, guilt, or loneliness. It is a three-part learning experience covering these topics:
-Mindfulness
-Distress Tolerance
-Emotional Regulation
-Interpersonal EffectivenessWho: Open to community members 18+ who have the desire to learn practical tools to live in the moment, cope with stress, manage emotions, and improve relationships. Groups are limited to 12 participants.
When: Every Friday from 4-5:30 PM, starting Aug. 30, 2024, at The Project of the Quad Cities, 4101 John Deere Rd., Moline, IL 61265.
Cost: Insurance is accepted but not required.
Our group meets continuously for three 8 week modules. We ask that you commit to one module at a time, as each week builds on another:
Module 1: 08/30-10/11
Module 2: 10/18-12/13 – off for Thanksgiving
Module 3: 12/20-2/14 – off for Christmas
